Dear Dr. Reisfeld:

I am writing this letter regarding the Endoscopic Thoracic Sympathectomy surgery that I had almost one year ago. I apologize that it has taken this long to write and thank you and your staff for everything you have done for me.

I hope by writing this letter others that are considering the procedure will feel comfortable making the decision to have the procedure in your clinic. After spending my entire life suffering from sweaty hands and feet I decided it was time to do something about it. I tried the roll on deodorants but all they did was make my hands shrivel up like prunes and they would still sweat for the most part. I found your website while searching the Internet. I did some research and found that you were the top doctor to see for this procedure. Your staff was extremely helpful and caring towards me and my family. They assisted me with my insurance company and everything else I needed to be prepared for surgery. Your clinic was professional, clean and comfortable. I would have to say that I was most impressed with the Anesthesiologist. I have had problems with anesthesia in the past and he made me feel at ease and safe. He was simply a wonderful person to have around during the nervous times.

After the surgery I experienced minor discomfort. The pressure I was told to expect in my chest was bearable and only lasted a day or so. I was up and out to dinner that night. It’s been a year since the surgery and my scares are almost completely faded. My hands never sweat and I am so thankful for that. My feet were not affected by the surgery and still sweat occasionally. The only side effect that I have experienced is hot flashes while eating. Once in a while my neck will get very warm during dinner and start sweating. I also have minor compensatory sweating. This was a concern of mine before the procedure. I have gotten use to it and am sure that most people would agree that it’s better than dealing with the sweaty palms. It mostly occurs on my back and happens while working out or in a very warm environment.

I can’t thank you enough for everything you have done for me. I now live a more confident life without having to worry about day-to-day interaction with others. I have started taking dance classes, something I probably would have avoided before the surgery. I would highly recommend you and your clinic to anyone suffering with sweaty hands. I only wish I would have known about it sooner in life. I have already passed your name along to one friend whose niece suffers from hyperhidrosis.

Please feel free to add my number to your list of contacts for potential patients. I would be happy to discuss the procedure with anyone considering it.

Thanks again,

Andrea
