International Symposium on Sympathetic Surgery 2013 – Australia

The bi-annual meeting of the international sympathetic surgery was held this year in Melbourne Australia. The topics that were discussed were very much the same as previous years. Those topics were basically the experience of different surgeons from around the world. There were no major breakthroughs, ideas or solutions with regard to topic of compensatory sweating. The group is determined to continue working on finding solutions for the issue of compensatory sweating. New topics such as sympathectomy for hypertension and sympathectomy for resistant cardiac arrhythmias were discussed but it is still a subject with not too much clinical experience to report. As more information becomes available we will share it.
